Bodo-Eleazer

Bodo-Eleazer
(fl. 1st cent)
Spanish apostate. He served as a deacon at the court of Louis the Pious and the emperor's confessor. When he converted to Judaism, he took the name Eleazar. Much of what is known of him is based on his exchange of corre-spondence with Paolo Alvaro, a Christian layman from Cordova. Using his knowledge of anti-Jewish polemics, he attacked his former faith.
